Final THESIS         USP Ceu Madrid "PFC"

The project is located in the "United Arab Emirates" country that has a desert climate.
The chosen place is the sourrandings of the city of "Al-Ain", which is commonly know as the "Garden city of the Arabic Gulf", beacause it has subterrain aquifers that converge in the city center creating natural oasis, and making easy conditions to extract water for the crops.

This is the reason of life existing in this region data from the Bronce Age. Its one of the best places in EAU to cultivate what it makes the location sostainable in this aspect.
One of the principal attraction of this region is the Jebel Hafeet, a 1200 meters high mountain, the highest of EUA and this is an attraction of spetial turism that want to apreciate the best sunset of Abu Dhabi.

Half way between Al-Ain city and the Jebel Hafeet´s top piont is situated the hotel.
Close to one of the subterrain aquifers to be able to extract water without needing to take it from other places.

One of the most important concept as the volumes are supported in the land,is that we create an interstitial space under the volumes fall.
This is an exterior space not exposed to direct solar radiation where it appears life in contact  with ligth transitions, water and vegetation that is increased in some strategic points.

The volumes are in a way separated from land to enhace the cross ventilation, and getting in every point a cave sensation. The terracing of the volumes generates that all the mostly all of the rooms have infinitive views to the desert and to al ain city.

Analysing the traditional way of living in desertic habitats, the project tries to enhance some concepts:
   - The project has a high volumetric density, and this makes life possible in between the building and the land.
   - It adapts to the mountain trying to make the lowest impact.
    -Clear and dark transitions.
-Recirculating water for better temperature conditions and as a sensorial effect.
     -North orientation.

The water in the hotel is taken from the subterrain aquifer and is regulatated by a maintenance center and a tank. The residual water is collected, treated  and redistributed  to irrigate the crops and vegetation, making a close water cycle.

Depending of the social and econical situation of the region, the construcction has the posibility to expand in ways of necessity to both sides and lower direction colonizing the needs of changes.
